Windshield
« on: May 03, 2012, 10:30:52 PM »
Hey to all,

It's been about 700 km in the break-in period and i'm not pleased with the standart screeen. Considering a little bit higher speeds will be performed after breaking in, i'm thinkin bout buying an MRA xscreen.. Does anyone have an idea about it, forums seem positive. Any experience so far ?
Thanks

I have no problems with the screen but I did have terrible buffeting with the standard screen on my last bike (V-strom) which the MRA vario solved nicely. They are good quality items

the standard screen is too low for me as well,so i tried a 75mm taller one from powerbronze which is very little better if any,my visor is still covered in insects.
if any one finds the answer please post it!

Agree with this 100% - had problems with my Tiger 1050 which the MRA VARIO mostly solved

I haven't put an MRA Vario Screen on my 1000 yet, but the one I put on my 650 worked wonders, so it is definately on the list of things I will be doing shortly.

I had a Givi Airflow screen on my Wee Strom, which I kept after trading the bike in, with the intention of selling it on ebay. The standard screen of the V1K let too much air hit me in the face, even with it extended, and I just found it too noisy. I looked at the mounting holes of the Givi screen and saw that they pretty much lined up with the mount for the standard screen, so I removed the height adjuster, bought some self locking nuts and bolts, plus a few washers to take care of the size difference, and now I have a really nice, quiet pocket of air behind the screen, with plenty of height adjustment and better weather protection.  :002:

Picture please!!

I also am thinking seriously about the Givi AF but as you all probably know the product has globally no picture on a versys 1000 at all! This drives me nuts!!

I'm told i have to wait for one of those birthday things...

Only two weeks, then hopefully i will have one fitted.

I will then drop a pic on the sight.

PS, cheers wombat, makes me feel like i am going in the right direction with my choice (even though i have not yet seen the specific one!)
