Appreciate the help! Off to the shop tonight.

I thought I'd add my project to this post since "2 Piece" was good enough to provide the template...and it's winter in Oregon so bring on the rain and an excuse to work in the shop.

I did my bends a little larger so it fits over the wind screen bracket...OP shows his on the ID. Either way, the angles and holes are perfect. I used a piece of this sheet metal I had around the shop (1/32" or about 1mm). Kept the overall size to a minimum. I had a Garmin Nuvi GPS Nav unit and used the swivel base as a mount. Removed the guts and epoxied a bolt for attachment. Simple drill through the mount. Lock nuts and loctite on each bolt. Easy enough design that I could do over if a upgrade my navigation unit.

Pics of course...

Nicely done!

I'm not so handy, so I just got my GPS mount from Moto Werk
https://motowerk.com/collections/kawasaki-versys-1000/products/gps-mount-over-the-clocks-v1000lt

My friend drilled the holes for me to attach the gps cradle. I'm very happy with it and the quality is great.

Thrilled with mine too. Speedy at MotoWerk does fantastic work. Bought most of his stuff for my Versys 650 and now my Versys 1000 also...

Thanks for sharing this with us  :031:
Titty bars aren't bad if you enjoy being sexually aroused without an outlet. Oh, and they're also convenient if you're in the mood for paying double the normal price for a drink. If I'm in the mood to be treated poorly while giving up large amounts of cash, I visit a BMW dealership

$70 for that bracket is simply excessive... I understand, whatever the market can bear... but, as I do not worship after market vendors, that price is simply abusive. Sorry for the rant... but I too old to get taken from amateurs.

Very nice Olie!  Thanks for inspiring me.

I am an amateur, but I do agree with the excessive cost for these devices. You forgot to mention to $10 for shipping so $80 for a piece of bent metal with a couple of drilled holes.  I think I will give making one a shot too!  This looks like a fun project plus you can customize it to suit your needs!
