Vespista1960 pointed me in the direction of the connector which will work on the OEM harness.

An option I did for the 650 (didn’t need to on the V1K) was to use an LED light bar. (Idea from Rictus).

Wired up to small separate fuse box below seat, switch to handlebar, small piece of 0.5mm steel bent to fit windscreen mount.





Sorry don’t have more pictures but gives an idea.
Wires routed below the tank beside main loom.

It worked really well.

Switch was £3 - Halfords
Wire was £5 for 25m from CEF Electricals (didn’t use it all of course)
Lightbar was £10 from Amazon
Steel was free from fabricators (a bit of scrap)
The fuse box was £12 from Amazon

A few connectors and a basic drawing on paper of what I wanted. It worked a treat.

Sold the bike but kept the light bar, it’s now on the pickup truck.

Can have a look for my old plans if anyone is interested and do out a more detailed diagram.

Oi!!! 

Those wires hold 240V (all I had) and everything was waterproof.
The fuse was a 10amp as that’s more than enough for that particular light bar.
I had considered doing it to the V1K but it doesn’t need it at all!

A few people didn’t like that I wired the fuse box direct to the battery but it’s no different than wiring up heated grips to the battery direct. Just remember to turn the light off when you’re done and it won’t kill the battery.

Not to mention I think it looks badass...
