I ran into that the first day I posted. Almost drove me away from this forum but I just ignored it and any further posts. Funny how these wires connecting people enhance their testosterone levels way higher than a face to face conversation does. Maybe they have a fat and sociopathic wife that thrashes them within inches of their life. Who knows?

This just happened to me tonight - Flashing lights, POWER KTRC ENGINE.

2015 Versys1000.

Had it since new.

Always keep it on battery tender.

Turned ignition on, display came up normally but would not turn over.

Jumped started and it started right up.

Turned off and had to jump start again.

Road to the dealer and purchased new battery.

Jump started again to ride home and change battery.

The old battery had leaked and split.

Cleaned it all up, put in new battery and it started right up but the Engine Warning Light, Power and KTRC displays are all flashing.

Rode it to the station and topped up fuel.  Roughly 10 minute stop. Started up, no change, all flashing.
Rode it to home and parked in the drive.  Roughly 10 minute stop.  Started up and pulled into the garage, all flashing.
Tired.
Will take it out in the morning, hopefully for the magical 3rd ride then see if it all clears or is a visit to the shop.

Found this set of posts with google search.

Looked encouraging so I thought to join and participate.

After 5 years this is the first thing I have had to worry about.

After 5 years I am now putting on an after market seat for those long, all day touring rides.

Would love to see these fault lights cleared.

Love how easy they made it to change the battery.

I should have done that maybe a year or two ago but on the tender it just seemed to last and last and last, until it didn't.

I reckon your bike will 'reset' itself after a few rides, three or four usually does the trick

Maybe drop into the new members section and tell us all a bit more about yourself    :028:

Welcome aboard, Jane :031:

5 years for a battery is about normal, but it shouldn't have split.  I've also got a 15 and haven't had a problem yet

Mine took about 5 rides before it reset itself after it had been on the dyno
