My Versys 1000
« on: April 12, 2017, 10:21:12 AM »
Hi All
My name is Dennis and I am from Singapore. I just got my new Versys 1000 2017 model and I am glad that this model now comes with a built-in gear indicator on the instrument LCD panel. I just thought I share with what I've done to my bike so far.

1. I've changed both my brake and clutch level. I got them from ailexpress. Do note if you getting from them please state the year of your bike. I assume 2014 model is same as 2017, I was wrong. 2014 pivot is much smaller and didnt fit.

2. I added an extra tail and break light on my V47 topbox. The V47 tail lights are LED, need to add a couple of diodes and resistor to dual intensity. I also need to modify the V47 base plate as Kawasaki base plate do not have a hole to the contact switch.

3. I bought the Puig screen from our local dealer in Singapore. Thanks to Vblog from NZ (A Brit A Blonde A Bike) review on his puig screen. It's keep the wind off me but do get a bit of shake at high speed riding.

4. Most recent, I added the original kawasaki fog lights and frame silders. This was after my ride in Malaysia on a no street light and no line markers. The versys headlights are horribly off alignment and the high beam was shooting into the sky. Both these items are from www.kfm-motorraeder.de

5. And finally the topbox back rest that my wife needed. She said terribly uncomfortable without it.

Hope I didn't bore you guys.

Ride safe
Dennis

Nice bike!!  I used to live in JB ( Johor Bahru)  I'm sure you'll spend more time in Malaysia when you've corrected the headlight. SO much more freedom and less expensive. Remember to take 50 Ringitt when the cop asks for your licence. Kopi license as I recall......... :31:  The gold old days, I had a Kawasaki ZX4 back then.

Hi Denis and welcome,

Nice new bike! I also installed the same barke/clutch levels, but in Orange. Really like them both for the look and the grip.
