WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?
« on: March 16, 2018, 03:31:04 PM »
Hey Guys, just wanted to see hwat you guys thought about my lighting configuration. I have made a lot of mods and have finished them all. I believe the lighting was the biggest help in being noticed lane splitting as well as improved night vision. In the lens housings I have installed OPT7 led Bulbs with staggered focus to optimize the correct reflection angles for high/low beam. I welded brackets to my Givi crash bars to mount the Piaa yellow projectors and white LED road projectors. I made sure to optimize placement in case of a slide or tip over that way if something did happen I would be able to salvage the projectors. I am really impressed with the Piaa RF3 cube driving beams. They really put out.

If I'm honest there's a bit too much lighting on there for my tastes, although I do understand that it may provide more presence on the road which is necessary for your daily journey....neat installation tho'  :028:

How are you controlling tha many lights? I have one set that I wired (with a relay) to my highbeams. All I have to do to switch them on is turn on the highbeams. I wouldn't want a bunch of switches to control while riding.

If you want to be seen, what have you done in the rear or for side markers? I added 4 LED in the rear on the top box. Two red markers on the side of the top box and replaced the front amber markers with LED's. The bikes dark on the side from the factory. Also I installed a brake light modulator.

The Piaa systems all come with a relay kit and remote switch that illuminates green when off and red when lit. I wired the hot side of the relay to the brake lights so that the relay has power to come on when the bike is on...but not off. Learned my lesson initially leaving them on when I am in a hurry. Now they go off irregardless if the ignition is off.

Just a thought.....can you see your indicators from the front? placing bright lamps close to the indicators can bleach them out. If so, you might start to find car drivers coming towards you doing unexpected things :027:
