Sat Nav positioning 2017 MY
« on: June 08, 2017, 09:50:42 PM »
The pre 2017 bracket which goes behind the screen is not compatible with the 2017 bike. Kawasaki have produced a bracket which goes down on the handlebar clamps , whey to low for my liking .
My Zumo came with the RAM ball mount which is designed to go onto standard bars . I utilised the two holes in the screen arm bracket and hey presto , no modification or parts needed . Route the cable between the plastics around the screen arm bracket

That's a very elegant solution, I will bear that in mind if I go from my 16 to a 17 or later on ...well done  :028: :028:

Nice solution, but I have to say you're wrong about the pre 2017 bracket not being compatible with the new model. I have one mounted on mine without any issues

I have one on my 2017 model part # 017BRU0048 purchased direct from Kawasaki UK

An excellent bracket which is very solid and well made  :028:

I'm with Kryton, the bracket does fit behind the screen on the 2017. However, if you have the Kawasaki touring screen, it prevents the screen from sliding all the way down, which for me (175cm) is not an issue.....

i phoned Crawley Kawasaki who supply both brackets , the screen one and the bar one they advised me that the screen one would not fit on bikes after 2016 . Anyway it has saved me £58 as the parts I used came with my Zumo

Crawley Kawasaki are P&H Motorcycles. Sometimes they can be a little difficult, in this particular case, they don't know their arse from their elbow. They say a picture paints a thousand words...

Taken from the cockpit of my 2017 Versys 1000 (gear indicator visible  :152:). As you can see, I have my Garmin unit mounted onto the 2015/16 mount without issues with a Givi Airflow. The mount replaces the silly piece of metal that's there, which nobody seems to know what it's for

Yep, I'm with Kryton, the picture he has posted is identical to my set up.

I have said before that this combination may not work with the Kawasaki vented touring screen, but as I don't have such a screen (I use a Puig) I'm not able to say, Ireland has confirmed my suspicions.    :028:
