My 2014 Versys
« on: August 11, 2017, 12:02:18 PM »
Hi everyone,

Here is my 2014 Versys bought 2 weeks ago with 37'000 kms on it. Just passed 38'000kms, and I love it !
I only had sportbikes before this one, except my FZ1 Fazer which wasn't comfy enough, and boy that thing isn't an old man ride !
Kawasaki knows how to make fun engines to ride!

When I bought it, there were already a few mods: givi crashbars and projectors, basgter tank cover, and the arrow exhaust.

Since then I added a Kappa top box, as well as givi quick release side case mounts for my Kappa K33 sidecases. I also bought a Puig touring screen (BIG improvement over the OEM screen), a 12V socket (5€ on ebay), and plastic handguards for 12€ en ebay (more for the look and wind protection than for crash protection).

Here are some pictures !

:185: To the forum.  I'm certain that you will be more than happy with the big V, they are a great bike. Yours looks very handsome, and is a good find so well done.  I hope that you enjoy every minute aboard it.                   Cheers  :031:  Geoff :2:

New mod for today with these 14€ chinese bar spacers. Don't blame them for the black paint, I'm responsible for it, as they came in bare aluminium.
Honestly for this price, they do the job to correct the odd position my short arms had ! I need to wait for the weather to be friendly now so that I can test it !

Are they an improvement for you

If you have a link to the supplier it could be useful to others who want to purchase a set  :028:

Tested yesterday ! They are a big improvement on riding position for me ! I could ride this bike for 10 hours a day !

Here are some pictures of my ride on the northern coast of britanny (I also found a way to put my lock under the top case plate, so much easier to use than when it was under the seat) :

And for those who'd be interested in purchasing the mods, here are the links:

Nice bike, it's exactly like mine.

Soon I will have the bike painted in candy-lime as my Kawa Z750, as the current grey is a too serious colour for my liking ...  :008:

I'm going also to replace the OEM suspensions with Hyperpro progressive springs and rear spring, + a steering damper.
A couple of weeks ago I rode on the nice twisty roads in Sardinia trying to keep the pace of a friend of mine with a Ducati Streetfighter 848 -  the engine performed nicely, but OEM suspensions are not exactly the best for some hard riding ...  :002:.
