2013 versys auxiliary power outlet
« on: September 06, 2017, 01:15:31 PM »
Hi all,
I have a 2013 versys which has a oem sat bag mount
The questions I have are
1)does the oem satnav mount being present mean that I already have a relay?
2)I have heard the Vulcan power outlet is a straight swap but is it the same for the 2013 models??
3)any recommendations on how to go about this

Many thanks for the replies

First question : maybe, depends on how the previous owner powered it. Tomtom has a cable you can connect onto your battery directly. It is proprietary so  good chance the owner took it along with his satnav. Might be the same with other brands.

Second question: the dash holes are the same on gen1 and gen2 bikes as far as I know.

Third: disassemble the front fairings (hassle I know) and look up the accessory lead. You can connect it to that or run a wire to the battery with a circuit breaker. There are some topics about this. Let us know if you cannot find them

When you say OEM Sat Nav mount I'm guessing that you mean the yoke top mounting, if so this will require the fitting of a cradle in order to mount your Device, cradles for Tom Tom and Garmin are different, I would also think that any previous owner will have removed the cradle leaving the mounting bracket attached.  :028:

I have always used a 'switched' power supply for my device power, but some connect direct to the battery which means remembering to turn the device off when not in use  :002:
