5500miles on originals, rear is very square and front is worn unevenly after winter commuting. Fancy something different. Any recommendations? My tyre bloke reckons  Metzeler Roadtec z8 interacts

Had them on my FZS no problems might go that way or P Angels so keep us up to speed on your thoughts after a few miles.  :028:

I've got Michelin Pilot Road 2's, they're very good too.

There have been quite few positive comments on here about the Metzeler Z8's though, I might try them next. I think Bloke's got them.

Certainly better than me!

I've said it here before, but I think most modern sport touring tyres are better than most road riders. The main difference most of us will be able to appreciate will be in the feeling of 'confidence' we get.

Having said that, the original tyres on the 650 Versys were pretty scary.

I just fitted a Maxxis Diamond (my son loves his on his Aprilia Dorsoduro). £145 fitted. Never heard of them you say... But read the reviews. Once you get used to them they are great.

I had those on my ZX12R, really good tyres imo and lots of wet weather grip. I bought originally because they were cheap and I was doing a 2500 mile trip round Europe followed by a Iron Butt 1000 miles in 24 hours the following month. The 12R would get through back tyres so I went for cheap but was so impressed with the Maxxis that I stayed with them.
