Western Canada calling
« on: April 18, 2018, 05:30:43 PM »
Hi everyone, I came across this forum ,when I was looking for a carbon fiber front fender extender. I moved to Canada almost 20 years ago, started driving small bikes 35 years ago in central Europe.  I drive first model of 2012 Versys 1000 in orange. Only modifications I did is to cut from rear fender, because it was to long to fit at my pickuptruck, front fork mounted LED, hanguards, heated grips, Puig taller, wider shield, Givi panniers, GPS holder and couple of 12V plugs.
Versys 1000 on the road is as rare in here as car ski rack in England. I've seen only one on the road in 6 years, we were staring at each other for few seconds going opposite direction at HWY. We had this first generation Versys 1000 before US, so it was rarity , when I was driving there with my friends 6 years ago.
I absolutely love my bike, for power, comfort, sitting position and how nimble it is  , even when heavy. My wife appreciate a very generous seat compare to KLR I had before. I did two day 1500km trip with her last year and she survived , no problem, little knee pain. On top of that, she enjoyed the speed , when I was passing holidaymakers, not hitting my helmet and back to slow down, like she did constantly, when I took her for a short drive first time.  :001:

Hello from Eastern Canada.  Welcome to this excellent forum.  Great members, and loads of information they are more than willing to share.

Used to live in the west (BC), and do miss it.  Picked up a brown 2012 VI with 13,000 kms last Oct. after riding Gold Wings for many years.  While the Versys is a different bike, I'm totally luvin' it.

Enjoy!

Thank you all. I will do the oil change tomorrow and maybe burn some gasoline on Friday. I can't wait for global worming.
