How to raise the front of the seat
« on: May 12, 2018, 09:33:27 PM »
I can't find anything on raising the front of the seat on a 1000. Lots of 650 info on the subject.  Im a big guy and its crushing my jewels especially when braking downhill.

Professional reshaping and introducing gel inserts seems to be an option.

Alternatively fitting an aftermarket seat like Corbin is another option

Maybe you can drop by the intro section and tell us a bit more about yourself        :002:

I was hoping there was an easy cheap fix. I live about 100 miles from Corbin factory so that's an option.  I'm a really big guy and I will need bar risers lowering pegs airhawk and I just purchased the bike.  I need to spread out the mods.

Hey bigeetr, enough said about your size, your beginning to make me feel inferior!  :745: :745:

6' 4". 375 lbs. Its not so much the height but the weight.  I see quite a few posts on raising the 650 seat but looking at my 16 V1K the bracket is completely different, thats probably I haven't seen any posts for ours. Corbin it is.

Hello, new guy. The stock seat will squish down and ease the ballbusting after a while. At your weight it might not take too long. At less than 1/2 your weight and 6'3" it took a month of so for me. You might try riding through it before throwing around too much $$.  :notsure:
