Original Kawasaki frame Sliders or not ?
« on: May 17, 2018, 08:16:48 AM »
Hi to all boys !
Today i want to install frame sliders on my Versys 1000 MY2018 for protection.
I want to ask us if the factory Kawasaki frame sliders "Part number 999940704" adequately protect the motorcycle from slight static falls...
Alternatively, you have got to suggest some more effective protection and retired frame sliders ?
I do not care about the cost of their purchase, but about the effective protection of the plastic, the steering wheel, the engine caps, etc.

I want just the best one, please tell me the owners your experiences from frame sliders.

Thanks to all boys !!!

Instead of those expensive sliders I have bought the givi engine guards.. less expensive and more protective.

I also tested them parking the bike on the right side  :157: :157:

I have the Kawasaki Frame sliders fitted to my bike, they are part of the GT specification...they have not been tested

I think that something like these would be stronger in the event of a crash/fall

There are the ones I have on my V1K.

The only thing I have not understood is if I can mount the sw motech skid plate together with them. I have doubts because the front bolts are shared across them and the sw motech engine guard, doesn't use them.
Givi doesn't make a skid guard for the V1K.

So if you are interested having the skid guard too, buy the sw motech one :D

I have the T-Rex sliders on mine. One static topple over in the garage.  Not a scratch.
I've rarely gotten in hot water over something I didn't say.

I'm not familiar with T-rex but I have Puig sliders and they do not stop damage in a standing drop.  Sliders don't generally protrude further than the stock turn signals which - in the case of my little parking lot mishap - snapped along with cracking the middle fairing.  :125:

I have the T-Rex Frame Sliders ( bonus they work perfectly with Motowerk Highway Peg Mounts ) I had a guy open his door on me while i was filtering. The bike and myself ended up on the pavement almost all the damage was from where the door hit the bike. the bike bounced off the ground on both sides of the bike. The Frame Sliders did their job or a lot more damage would have happened....
