2012 centre stand (main)
« on: June 13, 2018, 12:56:44 PM »
Hi
Does anyone on here know if the The center (main) stand is the same on all models?
I have a 2012 and I have seen a stand for a 2015 model for sale at a reasonable price.
TIA.
Need to know asap.

Ugg

Can’t really help you other than to say that I fitted an SW Motech centre stand to my 2012 V1 about 5 years ago, I did hear that Kawasaki’s centre stand was the same but please don’t hold me to that.
Titty bars aren't bad if you enjoy being sexually aroused without an outlet. Oh, and they're also convenient if you're in the mood for paying double the normal price for a drink. If I'm in the mood to be treated poorly while giving up large amounts of cash, I visit a BMW dealership

I too am reluctant to say that it's the same....however Motech part number HPS.08.144.10000/B  fits model 12 - 14 so it looks like the same stand will fit

I would hate for you to buy it and find it doesn't fit  :002:

EDIT:   I Maybe should have mentioned that centre/main stand is OEM fitment from 2015 onwards

Hello !

I did the mistake of buying a 2015 OEM model to fit it on my 1st gen. And it doesn't fit !
They added two more holes on the 2nd gen, on the frame behind the pegs to fit the holding plates.

I ended up purchasing the sw motech that fits behind the pegs...

That's a bugger..... :006:

All I can say is that the Motech stand is a good item which works well, I fitted one to my 2013 Versys 1000 and it worked a treat..it does widen the riders footpegs very slightly but that really isn't and issue

I just bought the Motea stand from ebay, it's exactly the same as the Motech stand, even used the same manuals to mount it, works great
