Gel seat advice needed
« on: December 12, 2018, 07:53:51 PM »
Ive just purchased a gel seat for my Versys 1000. It was advertised as a genuine kawasaki seat and sold by Unwin motorcycles. I just recieved it and its a bagster brand , it seems identical to my stock seat apart from a better cover . It also has a J and S accessories label under the seat.
Have i bought a genuine seat or just something that at worst has just had a new cover or best had a some foam cut out and a gel pad inserted .
Any thoughts? Do Bagster supply kawasaki with their “ genuine “ seats ?

Viper.   Bagster do indeed supply Genuine Kawasaki seats. The big K supply Bagster with base and fittings, then Bagster build the seat onto that base.

I know that some people think the seats are expensive,  but I found mine to be more comfortable than the original one. Even though  I never actually found the original one uncomfortable.
If man evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?

You got a photo of it, I'll compare it with my genuine Kawasaki gel seat.

Over the next couple of days I will get a picture of my Std OEM seat and my Kawasaki OEM Comfort (Bagster) seat(s) side by side off and on the bike  :027:

So true Richard.   But I did state " found "   not "find".    :178:

One thing that becomes very evident when handling both seats, is that the gel version is WAY heavier than the OE one.
