Is there fender extender for the back wheel?Hi
« on: December 15, 2018, 04:34:35 PM »
Hi all. Just ordered a front fender extender for my 2018Versys. So exhaust pipes and radiator will be protected from mud...However, I did not come across a solution for the back wheel. How do we protect the bike's back from flying mud coming off the back wheel?

Thanks
Danresh

Theres a guy on the Concours 1400 owners forum in the USA that makes one for the Concours. It fits the Mk1 Versys if yours is the same.

Yep, that is called a hugger. It is technology developed from the baby buggy.  :138: :004: :007:

Thanks Topbox. Would appreciate some input regarding the efficacy of this hugger. Is it really effective? does it keep the mud away from the back of the bike? Any issues concerning fixing it in place?

I'm happy with it, it stops 90% of the crud being flung onto the rear of the bike.  It fixes with 6 pop rivets, if you take the number plate off it can be fixed in situ.
