Fuel Tank Filler Cap Water Loggs

I have kept a low profile  :107: and been rummaging in the archives for some months. Some interesting reading  :188: but not been able to find the answer to my little problem. I do believe the and please put me right if this is wrong but the holes on the lip of the filler hole on my fuel tank are connected to an Fuel Evaporation System? Thing is when I wash the V water logs in the filler cap.

Does any one know of a fix?

Water should not be able to get to those 2 holes as there  is a gasket that prevents it,,,if in fact you are getting water in the canister and you are sure its coming from there, replace the gasket .

let me ask though, why do you think you are getting water in the canister, and why do you thinks its coming from the filler neck vent hoses ?

the hose from the water drain hole is kinked usually caused by the factory as to assembly , so no drain is possible ...this hose has only the purpose of draining water from the fuel neck ..
I  had the same problem
remove the seat..
Take off the body parts only that would impede you to get to the tank usually on either side of the tank ..remove the front bolts to the tank ...slowly swivel the tank up and brace it with a prop of some kind (short piece of wood will do) find the hose that connects to the drain hole (left side ) and replace it with a heavier grade hose following the same path as the original water drain hose which runs through the frame and ends up down by your gear shift area  ...that worked for me .  the heavier gauge OD  hose will not kink as easy …

Cheers fellas

Got round to doing it yesterday. The garage did not run the pipe to the brackets on the tank after it was in for service last. An easy fix in end  :028:
