How many extra clicks riding with a passenger?
« on: April 13, 2019, 07:57:16 AM »
Quick question: when riding with a 100 pound passenger, how many clicks should you typically add to the rear spring?

Thanks!  :031:

Two for us but play with it to find what it is for you. I’ve found the handling is affected worse by being too hard at the back than too soft. When it’s too hard the bike falls into turns instead of leaning with me.

Where do they get the names for these colours?

Thanks, I will try two clicks. If cars are not flashing their lights at me anymore, I know I'm good. (they were flashing last time because of the weight on the back of the bike made the fog lights blind them - something which never happens when riding alone)

My gal is a hundred pounds and change. One or two clicks sometimes helps. But I keep the bike fairly firm anyway.

Anyway, I tried two clicks yesterday and it worked wonderfully. No more flashing cars, and the bike actually felt more or less the same, except for the higher weight.

I am not the greatest fan of 2-up, if the truth be known. My wife is not a heavy woman but at a stop and when braking I might as well have sandbags bungeed all over the back of the bike. It's like the thing is twice as heavy as usual. The engine isn't bothered by it, but the operator is... :006:
