North West 200 races
« on: May 07, 2019, 11:12:04 AM »
If anyone is planning to attend the 90th Anniversary NW200 races this year there will be an added attraction that you may be interested in

We have a Section (Northern Counties Classic Motorcycle Club) who will again be presenting a display of classic bikes during the N.W 200 race week.

Here's a copy of the announcement that I have placed on Facebook

The Northern Counties Classic Motorcycle Club Northern Ireland will again be presenting a display of classic bikes during the North West 200 Race Festival week.
This year it will Include a tribute to Tom Herron's 40th Anniversary and will feature 4 of Tom's actual race bikes, his leathers and helmet, this is a 'must see' for all race fans
The display will be available to view on Wednesday 15th May 2019, and Thursday 16th May 2019 between 10 am and 8 pm, and again on Friday 17th May 2019 between 10 am and 4 pm.
There will be around 40 bikes to see of all ages and genres, so come along for a fantastic display !
Only 100 yards up the road from Joey's bar and just behind the Dunlop Memorial .... see you there !

Everyone is welcome, the display will be well worth viewing, there is a small entry fee

If you are in the area why not come along  :028:

And Quattro Plant Kawasaki win the Superbike race.... the first time a Kawasaki has been on top of the podium since Mick Grant about 40 years ago  :exclamation:

Fantastic racing yesterday despite poor weather conditions a couple of Red Flags which held up proceedings during the Supersport race

We had a fantastic day with exceptional hospitality from the owners of the property that we view from  :celebrate:   The weather played its part the race delays  meant that we didn't get away until 7.30pm which after meeting up at 8.00am proved to be a long day in the cold and wet  :exclamation:  The previous days weather was really good, what a shame that it didn't last

I took some pictures which TBH are poor so I will try and find a link so that you can appreciate the quality of racing at this International event

Here's one that looks ok

Some pictures from the Classic bike show that we laid on over 3 days to generate money for charities

In addition we constructed a Classic G.P paddock outside with members bikes that we started for spectators

If I find more pictures then I'll post them up  :028:

That will be a Patton  :028:

Unfortunately he highsided at York Corner about 30 metres away from our vantage point in the twin race on Saturday... he was unhurt  :028:
