I've got a hook in the header for my garage door, and used a strap on the handle bars to help hold the front end off the ground when removing the front tire on my 650 Versys.  Any reason that wouldn't work with the 1000, especially considering the center stand is taking on most of the weight???

With the bike on the centerstand, I sit on the very back edge of the passenger seat and my buddy removes the front tire.

Here is my Versys 1000LT SE waiting for new shoes. Both wheel off at the same time.  Used scissor jack under engine and jack-stand with front axle reinstalled.

Maybe 2 minutes, he will loosen the bolts before I get on and put blocks of wood under the forks once the wheel is off.
