Guilty new owner
on: September 10, 2019, 10:27:09 AM
Confession time - I love my Mk1 Honda CBF1000. It's a great all round comfortable, surprisingly sporty, tourer which has never let me down. I simply can't bring myself to sell it. She's family. However, once the 'itch' gets you, it's hard to resist, and today I bought a virtually new 2019 Versys 1000 GT in black/white with the green pin-striping. It looks brilliant. It's getting a fender extender, Beowulf rad guard and green rim tape added to the existing Oxford heated grips. Luverly jubberly. Naturally, I feel as guilty as hell at this treason to my biffer, but I'm sure the new arrival will win me over in due course! Now I can stop being a 'lurker' and come in from the cold as a fully fledged owner/member of this great forum. Cheers all.

ps Admin - sorry can you move this to new members section. I don't know how to!

Welcome aboard.  :031:

I'm sure your Honda will appreciate having a stable mate, no reason to feel guilty.  IMHO, everyone should have at least two bikes

:185: I too am a former Biffer owner, having had first a MkI and then a MkII. I also, somewhat guiltily, exchanged her for a 2016 Versys in May last year. There are a few things that I preferred about the Biffer, but overall I am happier with the Versys. My main reason to change was that the riding position is better for me, so at least I have an excuse for changing. I agree though that the Biffer is an excellent and much-underrated bike: strange that Honda have not now got anything like it in their range.

Welcome again, and I'm sure you'll love the Versys  :031:

Hello
Another biffer here! Not bought a replacement for it yet but Versys is one I am considering.
No need to be guilty - Honda have no replacement for the CBF so it's their loss  :002:

I am also a former owner of Honda cbf SC64. two years I could not decide to sell. Now I have VK1 SE green and   I am very pleased.  Versys plays in a different league than Cbf.

You really won't be an idlebiker for much longer now you have a Versys 100 sat looking at you.

I think you can ow consider yourself fully fledged, if you have any questions then don't hesitate to ask because there is a wealth of knowledge and help on here plus a good deal of banter, so join in the fun    :001:
