Could it be a fault linked to the lambda / oxygen sensor? Is it turning over ok and just not firing?

I know mine works because the fuel cap whines after Ive been riding for a while and park it (usually when its hot outside too)

The whining is not abnormal, especially when the temps are hot.

It actually fires up then shuts off.  So its weird as its not like its not firing.

then I would say its a warranty issue

Firing up and shutting off is definitely an issue for Kawasaki to Fix    not normal at all

I agree, definitely a dealer issue.
I still wonder about a sensor/mapping issue with it being temperature related. If these are not correct it could lead to problems like overfueling / backpressure and engine cut out. Or if the engine thinks its hot when it isn't would that drop the idle speed too soon?

Agreed... on my 3rd versys now and they have been ultra reliable in every way :)

Apologies if it's been explained elsewhere, but why are you on Versys number 3? What happened to the first 2?
