Hello from the Philippines!
on: October 09, 2019, 04:01:44 PM
Hello everyone,

I am from Manila, Philippines.  I have only been riding for 2 years.  My first bike was a 2017 KTM Duke 390 but after a couple of months I switched to a 2017 Versys 650. I put on about 20,000 kilometres on it.  Had lots of fun and adventures with it.  I took a motorcycle safety riding course that was thought by our police highway patrol and learned a lot about handling and driving safely.  This gave me more confidence so I thought I'd sell the 650 and switch to the 2019 Versys 1000. Wow! What a difference! I don't even have to downshift when I have to pass cars!  I've had the bike for only a week and I'm loving it. I always go to the garage and just stare at the bike LOL! I'm looking forward to learn more about this bike on this forum. Ride safe everyone!

Welcome. It is a fun bike.
Had a 650 in 2011 now on my second 1000
Nothing else I would switch for.

I often find myself in my garage with a cup of tea, sat there just looking at my bike.

Hi, I got it from a local guy. He only specialises is 650 or 1000 Versys. He made the crash bars, skid plate, and the pannier brackets modelled after SW Motech. The crash bars cost me 10,000 Philippine pesos. The skid plate 12,000 and the bracket 10,000. Just convert the amounts to your currency. I asked if he can send it to you but he does not export. I can probably buy and ship to you if you want.
