I owned a 2103 Versys 1000 back in 2013, I didn't really like the OEM tyres and decided to fit Metzeler Roadtec 01 front and rear

The improvement in feel and ride was immediately noticeable, so much so that I changed the OEM Bridgestones on my 2017 Versys 1000 to Metzeler Roadtec o1 again the improvement was very noticeable

I don't think there are any 'bad' tyres these days just some that are better than others and suit different bikes  in a different way

it seems that tire thread is similar to oil thread.  so many options, and no real scientific data to back them up.  all I can say is that my pirelli gt II last forever. and they are great for rain.  i presently live in Thailand, so lots of rain here.
