Metzeler M9 RR RIDE THE UNEXPECTED
on: September 01, 2020, 07:56:00 AM
Hi to all. looks for new tires for my Versys 1000 MK2.
At now have Continental Road Attack 3, very good tire, 14k with it, but it's time to change it.

Has anyone tried the new Metzeler M9RR ?
I know, it's a supersport tire, but i would like something different, more sporty.

Αlternative and sure choice the new Roadtec 01-SE...

I would like your opinions please about Super Sport tires on Versys 1000.
Especially if someone has used the new Metzeler M9RR on his Versys 1000.

I ran a set of M7 RR's on my Versys and they work very well both wet and dry , but they are a sport bike tire and do not last as can be expected...I think I got about 3200 miles out of those....  the 9's are supposed to be a bit longer lasting but even then with aggressive riding I wouldn't expect more than 4K out of them ... if you dont ride aggressively, well, then your looking at the wrong tires.

As for the Roadtecs, I went trough 3 sets of the 01s but haven't used the new SE version.....they are a great tire and  I saw about 5500 miles out of each set.... the SE are also suppose to be  bit better in the wear dept...

Finaly Metzeler M9RR it's on my Versys MK2.

It's the best tire ever use. At the first ride front tire goes near to the end !

Metzeler Sportec M9RR UPDATE

After 300km brake in period, try to push Versys 1000 MK2 to the limit and riding hard...
The tire is just amazing ! The best one ever ride !
Unfortunately it will have a short lifespan...

Thanks for the review. Doesn't seem to be the tire for me. Will try the Conti Road Attack next time.
