Insurance renewal and modifications
on: January 19, 2021, 02:00:04 PM
I've renewed the insurance on my 2015 V1K today and thought it might be useful to pass on the following in case anyone (like me) is nervous of declaring modifications. I added the following three modifications - cosmetic exhaust change (Scorpion end can), change of rear suspension (Nitron shock) and luggage/panniers fitted. The actual policy is underwritten by Aviva which is commonly used by many of the UK brokers. The result was it made no difference to the price. Screen changes also make no difference.
I was asked if any of the changes made a 5% difference to performance, which of course they don't, so that is also something to be aware of.

My policy has always been to declare modifications  to insurance  providers

:89: Though you have to wonder what difference an aftermarket sticker is going to make to anything  :lostit: Yes, really, stickers are included in the list of mods you have to declare for some insurance companies. Perhaps 'go faster' stripes really do make you go faster?  :notsure:

Yep, it does sound a bit daft, surely a sticker adds weight and as such slows you down   :4:
