Most of the publications have nothing put positive things to say. Its not a BMW XR, however I have ridden that BMW and the old ones will buzz your hands right off. It is a fun bike to ride, but I will keep my versys. I have owned a 2015 and currently own a 2019 and for the money it is the best sport touring bike I have ever owned.

We have really enjoyed ours and look forward to many more miles on the Big Versys

I bought mine based on research, sitting on one, but never riding one.  Based on youtube etc I was pretty sure I would like it.  But I was wrong, I love it!  Looking forward to many more miles on it.
