Givi Airflow AF4105 / Versys 1000 2017
on: February 22, 2021, 02:47:07 PM
The description for Givi AF4105 2-part windscreen excludes 2017 & 2018 V1000. Here is Givi's fitment description: Givi AF4105 Airflow Motorcycle Windshield for Kawasaki Versys 650/LT '15-'16, Versys 1000 '12-'14 & Versys 1000 LT '15-'16

I was told it would fit my 2017 but no real clear answers. So I bought one.  It is not a drop-in fit. The only modification I had to make was to drill out the 4 holes circled in red. These holes were about 1/4" diameter from the factory but to fit the rubber bushings for the 2017 the holes should be 12mm diameter.  The 4 holes also seemed to be too far apart from side to side compared to OE windscreen, which looked like it make the sliding function problematic. So I shifted the center of the holes about 3mm toward the center of the bike on each hole. To shift the center of the hole I used a Dremel to somewhat enlarge the holes toward the center of the bike before drilling the holes larger. And since I don't have a 12mm drill bit I drilled them next size smaller, marked the hole size with blue tape and pencil and then enlarged them with a Dremel.   After that it fits fine.  Have not tried it out yet, still buried in snow.

Corbin seat, Puig windshield, windshield gps bracket, Tak-Lok throttle lock, Grip Puppies, Puig fender extender, Kawi 12V socket, Shad SH58X top box, SW Motech sidestand foot, Tackform Enduro phone mount, Holeshot Bad Boy slip-on muffler, Motografix tank protector, Motowerk bar risers.

Very cool.  Nice work.  Please let us know how it works out.

I also have a black/red '17 and have been curious about this windshield.  I've tried several others and haven't been 100% satisfied yet.  I have a MRA Vario due in on FedEx tomorrow...hoping that one works well because it looks cool and wasn't cheap.
