A bit of PTFE tape around the nipple will stop that leak. I can't see that adding braided lines would cause the leak. More likely a rather ham-fisted nechanic. Braided lines don't I crease the internal pressure, certainly not enough to force a bleed nipple to leak

Yes that fitting would look a bit better.
However with my setup, I now have the ability to reverse bleed the brake fluid back up to that top beed nipple from the calipers.
Then once all air has risen up to the top, just pump all the collected air from the top by pumping the brake lever a couple of times.

Rant here on the Kawasaki and quality.
So I thought Id fixed the above issues, went down on the weekend to check something on the bike and the master cylinder / reservoir cap, somewhere there had been leaking and the brake fluid had nicely stripped the paint on the body work, very unhappy.
This has to be the most ongoing annoying sagas with these brakes. Ordered new rotors and pads today so hopefully that will stop the surging.

Are you by chance overfilling the reservoir? If the brakes/fluid get heated, it could push back into the master..... recommend not filling to the max line, but just under. Depending on the m/c, there may be a vent groove.......

Kawasaki service guys think that maybe the diaphragm is somehow damaged and not sealing on the cap properly seeing its been on and off so many times. Ordered a new one that I will fit when the new rotors and pads are installed. Ill try and touch up with gloss black and clear lacquer, but far from happy.

That sounds very probable. I had something similar on a GTR. In my case I think the bad fitting diaphragm allowed fluid out when the bike was on the move and the fluid was sloshing about a bit.
A new diaphragm cured it. Take a bit more care that you normally would to make sure it fits perfectly
