Thinking of trading my 16 V1K for a hayabusa
on: October 13, 2021, 10:06:50 PM
As the title says, considering going the way of the squid missile. Hayabusa or zx14.

Anyone have experience with either one? Am I just having a crazy thought? Im not touring/motorcycle camping so much anymore, just work commuting mostly.

Commuting?,,, I'd think a Versys 300/Ninja 400

fwiw, wife rented a Toyota Prius Hybrid and drove it MO to Florida and back, Got 68 mpg US gallons for the trip. (She does drive slower than me though,,,)

Try getting a test ride first if haven't. See if it ticks off your boxes  :169:

They're both great bikes if you find them comfortable enough for daily use.

My commute is about 30 minutes on stop and go 45 mph roads. Getting someone to let me test ride their hayabusa may be pretty tough. Ive found just about any test ride, except Harley, are pretty hard to get. Im pretty sure for short trips I could be comfortable enough on just about anything. Small bikes dont do it for me, there is zero cool factor.

:033:  Bit of waste for a Busa IMO ...rode one once as a long test ride ...fast as hell meant for open road and sport touring and even so, not as comfy as a V1 being the better bike for your current commute.

I owned  a ZZR 1400 for around 8 months back in 2008/9 it may be a different  bike to a Busa, but does share many attributes, it is a bike that is  faster than you think, or believe.

IMHO  a Busa is not the right choice of bike for your requirements, However  until you try you'll never know  :007:

The world is full of good people, if you can't find one - be one

Make every second count, make every moment special.

Yes, you are having a crazy thought.  As Tyke says neither bike is made for what you want to do. Why wrestle with 550lb bikes in stop and go traffic? My Z900RS is very comfy, 480lbs, gorgeous and has more than enough power for your intended purpose.
