Faring question
on: October 15, 2021, 11:37:12 PM
Hello,
Is it normal to have the fairings on both side pop out? It may be hard to see in the picture but both sides are "expanding" out.
Thanks!
Joe

Mine does the same thing.... the part should have been overcrowned by design to fit better, or at least had a better tab in that area.

I did experiment by putting a rubber washer on the pin/grommets and I improved it but not a total fix.  Try leaving it partially disengaged and you may see what I mean.  I put a tie strap in the regulator area to pull that underlying part inboard more, minor improvement also.. when I get some time at the end of riding season I'm going to look into it further.  Seems it was a budget design, my Hondas and Yamahas fit together better and retain...

Hi Joe,

Mine did the same until I realised that I had not fitted the panel correctly.

You need to be sure that the tab in your picture and the similar lower tab are hooked into their openings before clicking the panel pegs into their grommets. A bit of grease on the grommets helps.

Thank you, Ill try that again. I had deliberately put the two tabs in 1st and worked my way back but as soon as the 4 plugs were in the tabs were popped out again.

Yep Joe, that's exactly what I was finding but it did eventually behave.

Keep a Slight Pressure (up and in) on the small tabs while you work your way back
and they should stay in place.

Funny though, I took it to the dealer yesterday to get fork seals done and some other things. I mentioned that both sides were popped out. When I picked it up a couple hours later they were like "Oh we popped those in no problem". So, it is just me and they do go back in. :)
