rear brake caliper help, please!

Thanks for all of the advice folks, very much appreciated.  As to the pads those were my thoughts exactly and have a set on their way.  Will let know how reassembly goes once the pads arrive.  A lot of good advice given.

Did you get this sorted and if so what was the problem?

this has been the nightmare on elm street.  I had a guy on our NC Adventure Riders forum stop by to assist and by the time he had came I had received my new pads so we proceeded to install them and when we were putting the caliper back together the bolt got cross threaded, so much for saving $60 by changing the rear tire myself.  My neighbor has a tap and die set so hopefully I will take it over this weekend and fix my little problem. I swear....(actually did quite a bit)....
