2017 V1K, sprocket change results in service code 25

Hi.  My bike is 2017.  I've read through most of the sprocket change threads and have not seen what I'm looking for.  OE sprocket tooth counts are 15/43 front/rear.  I changed to 16/42, for a 9.2% engine rpm reduction.  I like that mechanical change just fine except I now more than half the time I have check engine light and KTRC light illuminated and gear indicator flashing. Service error code 25.  Same problem with old worn rear tire and brand new rear tire.  Sometimes the error goes away for a while but always comes back with a vengeance.   Service code 25 is described as a discrepancy between front and rear wheel speeds, but with gear indicator flashing I think this same error code can also mean that the gear indicator which is software-based is confused by the sprocket changes.  That is my guess.  I think the situation is different on 2019 and newer bikes.   Does anyone believe the Kawi dealer could reflash the ECU to make the software agree with the gearing change?  Is there some other solution?  I see that a Healtech add-on device might fix the gear indicator but even then I'm not sure that the ECU wouldn't keep flashing the error.

I believe you have 2 separate issues. I have the 16/42 sprockets and have been service code free for 15,000 miles. I have changes tires in pairs.  The variation in tire diameters is very likely the cause of your code.

I do not have a gear indicator. I have read a few threads here about issues with OEM indicator issues with sprocket changes. I think that issue is unrelated to the code 25.

When I had my 2015 I went 1 tooth bigger on the front and it confused the gear indicator,  it would show 5 then 6 then 5 etc sometimes 4 then 5 then 4 then 5 but it never put a fault up on the dash.
