    I was born just 2 days after she was crowned in 1953.  Presently on a family holiday in France and we were all surprised just how much this announcement affected us

    She came to the throne about two months before I was born so she was the ultimate lynch-pin of my entire life. It was clear she was becoming frail but, somehow, I still thought of her as immortal on one level. It feels very odd to think we now have a King.

    We were in France last week, too, and were very surprised to see newspaper front pages completely dedicated to the Queen's death. I would have expected headlines but not for her passing to be the only thing shown.
