as the compression ratio is extremely low for nowadays standards, are you seeing any badly tight clearance measurements at, let's say, 36k miles?

I would have thought valve clearances are affected more by valve seat and valve materials possible spring strength rather than compression ratio.
In any event I've done mine twice 2 or 3 valves a couple of thou under nothing giving any concern. Adjusted them as I was in there.

I did mine at 28,248 km and replaced 6 inlet shims as the clearances were close to the bottom end of spec.
Exhaust clearances were all good.
I did them again at 54,031 km and replaced 1 exhaust shim.
In my opinion every 24 000 km, give or take, is not too often.
Rob.

I don't have my notes with me as I'm in France.
From memory 25000 and 50000 miles. It's now on 69000 miles. I'm thinking it will probs be OK till 100,000 miles. Might check them earlier if I feel bored one winter.
