Engine waring, Traction control, ABS and others warning lights on.

    Hi

All the above including no speed, milage count and gear indicator stopped working. My instrument panel was flashing so their is power getting to it. There is no issue starting and riding the bike. System has been tested and shows all sensors are fine but comes back as an ECU issue. Dealer is in the same mind set as I am and thinks its more of a wiring issue. But at £96  :5: an hour labour to find it I wondered if anyone has has something similar and point us in the right directint to find the fault before my bank account is emptied.

    This is on a 2015 Versys 1000.

Sounds like an earthing issue for the headlight area assembly.  I guess there are a couple of large multipoint connectors under the front of the tank.  That's where I'd start, armed with a contact cleaning spray

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is earthing?  Is it what some call grounding?

Do you know anyone with a 15-17 V1K who might let you try their ECU? Have you inspected the harness completely? It seems like your meter is good - though blinking and not displaying proper info - and since your separate gear indicator is also malfunctioning, I’d say the ECU is looking like your problem.

I would definitely check the ground connections to the engine and the frame first, and if not solved, unplug the connections at the meter to look for corrosion (should be waterproof though).
There is a ground screw on the left side of the engine (rear) and one on the left frame forward area.  10mm socket required methinks.

Bike is at Kawasaki undergoing investigation and as they can't find the fault they are been very accommodating to the point I have put a down payment one a new bike. In the mean time I am now awaiting the delivery in May of a V1 SGT. Its time to move on.
