Title: A couple of days in the Missouri/Arkansas Ozark Region
Post by: Justa_Poser on May 29, 2017, 02:16:03 AM
This is about 1,000 miles and three days travel.

The weather was wonderful, and the scenery very nice.  These roads were in good repair, for the most part - but there had been some storms and flash flooding and some of the roads were severely damaged.

We found some nice, quiet roads with great scenery.

....Then we proceeded to the old Oark General Store and Cafe for some great home-made pie.

Next day, we are exploring all of the very small roads - and there three mules came out of a field and chased us down the road.  It was very funny.  Next time we will purchase a video camera !

THAT road ended in gravel at water, so we turned around and went back.  Can you guess WHO was waiting for us ???

They ran behind us, and then they ran alongside of us, and then they ran in front of us.  It was as if they wanted to play.

These big butterflies were everywhere.

Then we have this tradition for the past 11 or 12 years of climbing the bridge on Big Piney Creek and writing our names.

A bit steep here.  Nice switchbacks.

My Wife comes with me (as a passenger) and then we take one of our other bikes that is more suitable for a passenger and extra luggage.

Here are a couple more (random) pictures.

The 1st, 3rd, and last pics were in mid-April.  The rest were in June - for this last set of pictures.
